Younger sister wins in all-Bondarenko match; No. 3 seed through after three set win on Day 2 in Prague

Two out of five seeds were ousted on Tuesday in Prague, one of them being Alona Bondarenko, who suffered a loss to her younger sister Kateryna. No. 3 seed Iveta Benesova was on the winner's list.

Benesova was challenged by wildcard Karolina Pliskova, and even went to three sets against the Czech, but Benesova was able to close out the match after winning with a score of 67(5) 63 61.

The task of beating Alona was very easy for Kateryna, as the Ukranian went through easily after winning 61 63.

No. 6 seed Magdalena Rybarikova joined the seeded Bondarenko on the loser's list, as the Slovakian lost to qualifier Timea Bacszinsky, 62 76(5).

No. 7 seed Lucie Hradecka was in no trouble against qualifier Ksenia Pervak, and won 63 62; and No. 8 seed Petra Kvitova had a similar score against Anna Lapushchenkova, winning 61 60.
