Just like in the singles draw, the top four seeds are in the semifinals in doubles. Top seeds Cara Black and Liezel Huber will face defending champions Venus and Serena Williams, who are the No. 4 seeds, and No. 2 seeds Anabel Medina Garrigues and Virginia Ruano Pascual will face No. 3 seeds Samantha Stosur and Rennae Stubbs for a final berth.

Black and Huber were tested by No. 11 seeds Nuria Llagostera Vives and Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez, but went through after winning with a score of 46 63 60.

The Williams sisters won in straight sets to No. 12 seeds Anna-Lena Groenefeld and Vania King, 62 75.
