Bacsinszky ruins top four seeds semifinal by ousting No. 4 seed

On Friday at the ECM Prague Open, the semifinals consisting of the top four seeds was ruined, by qualifier Timea Bacsinszky, who ousted the No. 4 seed, while the No. 1, 2 and 3 seeds went through.

No. 1 seed Francesca Schiavone advanced with ease, after beating Kateryna Bondarenko 61 61.

No. 2 seed Sybille Bammer was the only player to go to three sets, as the Austrian was in a tough position against No. 7 seed Lucie Hradecka, but managed to win the match, 75 57 75.

No. 3 seed Iveta Benesova upsetted 15-year-old rising star Zarina Diyaz, 64 61.

No. 4 seed Carla Suarez Navarro was demolished by Bacsinszky in tough straight sets, 64 64.
