Safina battles to seal Portoroz win against defending champion in final

Top seed Dinara Safina fought from losing the first set to winning the final of the Banka Koper Slovenia Open, to defending champion and No. 5 seed Sara Errani, on Sunday, making it her third title this year.

Safina was definitely pushed to the limit by the Italian, as the Russian wasn't able to close out the first set, won the second set easily, and battled to win the third in a tough score. The final score was 67(5) 61 75, and the match was finished in 2 hours and 57 minutes.

The score in head-to-head between Safina and Errani is now 2-0.
