Top seed and defending champion through to semis on Day 5 in Portoroz

Top seed Dinara Safina proved to be in good shape in her Friday match in Portoroz, as the Russian easily advanced after beating Maria Elena Camerin, while defending champion Sara Errani had the same result, as the Italian went through to the semis after a straight sets win over a wildcard.

Safina had no trouble against Camerin, as she won the match with a score of 63 60.

Errani finished her match with an easier score, as she beat Petra Martic 61 61.

Other winners of the day were Stefanie Voegele, who beat Rossana de los Rios 61 61; and Alberta Brianti, who ousted Camille Pin 63 62.
