Szavay wins first title since late 2007 against Swiss top seed in Budapest

In the GDF SUEZ Grand Prix final, it was No. 1 seed Patty Schnyder against No. 4 seed Agnes Szavay for the crown. The match went to three sets, and eventually the Hungarian succeeded in winning her first title since September 2007, and third title overall.

Szavay wasn't to comfortable in the first set, as her Swiss opponent took it easily, but then Szavay regained her form and won the next two sets, the match ending with a score of 26 46 62.

The head-to-head result between Szavay and Schnyder is now 1-0 to the Hungarian, as this was their first meeting.
