Martinez Sanchez spoils Wozniacki's birthday; takes title in Bastad

Top seed Caroline Wozniacki didn't have a very happy birthday on Saturday in Bastad, as the now 19-year-old Dane lost to an unseeded Spaniard in the final of the Collector Swedish Open Women.

Wozniacki held up the runner-up trophy after Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez showed she was in better form, and won the match with a score of 75 64. But the Scandinavian crowd didn't let their regional No. 1 down, as they sang Happy Birthday to her after the match.

The Spaniard lead the head-to-head results against the Dane 1-0, and now has two Tour titles to her name.
