No. 2 seed stunned on Day 2 in Portoroz by 20-year-old birthday girl

No. 2 seed Anabel Medina Garrigues was shocked in her first round match, as the Spaniard suffered a loss to birthday girl Vesna Manasieva, who turns 20 today, in three sets.

Qualifier Manasieva from Russia battled for a spot in the second round in Portoroz, and managed to clinch the win with a score of 63 16 75.

No. 4 seed Roberta Vinci was more fortunate, as she had an easy time against Slovenian wildcard Nastja Kolar, and won 62 60.

No. 7 seed Vera Dushevina had a similar score in her win against Tathiana Garbin, as the Russian breezed through with a score of 60 63.
