Sharapova fights back after second set troubles on Day 5 in Toronto

Maria Sharapova was able to fight through to a semifinal spot in Toronto after prevailing in straight sets against Agnieszka Radwanska, while No. 4 seed Elena Dementieva went to three sets against Samantha Stosur to advance on Day 5.

Sharapova made an easy first set win against the 14th seeded Pole, but the second set was tougher, as Radwanska gained a 5-2 lead. Sharapova didn't give up, hitting her way through to make it a tiebreaker and winning with a score of 7-5. The final score was 62 76(5).

The Russian will next face Alisa Kleybanova, who suprisingly dismissed No. 5 seed Jelena Jankovic in a tough three-setter, 67(6) 76(7) 62.

Dementieva was in tough positions against Stosur, but managed to outplay the Australian, winning with a score of 67(3) 61 63.

Dementieva will next face No. 2 seed Serena Williams, who didn't face any dangers against qualifier Lucie Safarova, winning with a score of 63 62.
