Safina breaks Clijsters' return winning streak to get to semis; Dementieva through after easy win over No. 8 seed on Day 5 in Cincy

Kim Clijsters' run ended on Friday in Cincinnati, as the Belgian didn't pass her test against No. 1 seed Dinara Safina, losing in straight sets, while No. 4 seed Elena Dementieva advanced after a piece of cake win to No. 8 seed Caroline Wozniacki.

Wildcard Clijsters looked to be in great form after her first three wins, but today was not her day, as she succumbed to defeat, losing with a score of 62 75.

Safina will next play No. 14 seed Flavia Pennetta, who breezed past Daniela Hantuchova with a score of 63 63.
