Clijsters goes through after straight sets win; Serena also advances on Wednesday in Cincinnati

Kim Clijsters has yet a set to lose in her comeback, as she demolished Patty Schnyder in straight sets to advance to her third round match, while No. 2 seed Serena Williams also advanced after ousting Kateryna Bondarenko with an even easier score than Clijsters on Day 3 in Cincinnati.

Clijsters was in good shape in her match against Schnyder, winning to the Swiss with a score of 62 75. Next up for the Belgian is No. 6 seed Svetlana Kuznetsova, for a quarterfinal berth.

Serena was not at all troubled by Bondarenko, as the American cruised through to the third round after beating the Ukrainian with a score of 63 62.

Other seeded winners of the day included No. 4 seed Elena Dementieva, who beat qualifier Yanina Wickmayer 63 64; and No. 5 seed Jelena Jankovic, who managed to get past wildcard Maria Kirilenko with a score of 76(6) 63.
