Top seed Caroline Wozniacki was in great form in her second round match, winning to Severine Bremond, 61 76(1).
"I felt really good on the court today. I was playing well, I thought, and serving well, so it's good to get through in straight sets," Wozniacki said. "In the tie-break I was just trying to play one point at a time and focus. It was also important to hold my service points: on a fast, indoor hardcourt like this it's important to hold serve."
The other seeded winners of the day were No. 3 seed Lucie Safarova, who dispatched Vania King 76(1) 63, No. 4 seed Anne Keothavong, who ousted Michelle Larcher de Brito 76(2) 64, No. 6 seed Sabine Lisicki, who beat Stephanie Foretz 62 64, and No. 8 seed Pauline Parmentier, who defeated Chanelle Scheepers, 64 61.
