Vinci demolishes Kirilenko to gain second title of career

Roberta Vinci came back from an early loss in Marbella, Spain last week to win the Barcelona Ladies Open against Russian Maria Kirilenko in easy straight sets, making it her second title of her career.

The Italian had little trouble against Kirilenko, winning with a score of 60 64 in 1 hour and 11 minutes.

"I am so happy!" Vinci said. "It's such a great feeling to win again. It has been a long time since I played well. I felt good after Marbella - I had a good match against Jankovic and it gave me confidence coming here to Barcelona."

After the win for Vinci, the head-to-head result is now 2-2. Vinci won their first meeting, then Kirilenko won the next two, the latest being in 2008 in Portoroz.
