One of two seeds in action win on Day 1 in Marbella

There were only two seeds in action on Day 1 in Marbella, Spain at the Andalucia Tennis Experience, and only one of them succeeded to advance to the second round, along with two other unseeded players.

No. 7 seed Sorana Cirstea easily got past Ioana Raluca Olara in straight sets, with a score of 64 62.

The seeded loser of the day was No. 8 seed Tsvetana Pironkova, who lost to Roberta Vinci in three sets, 67(4) 62 64.

The other main draw winner was Nicole Vaidisova, who fought to win to Angelique Kerber in three sets, 35 64 64.
