Petrova, Bartoli through to semis; Dementieva ousted by No. 12 seed on Friday in Beijing

No. 13 seed Nadia Petrova and No. 14 seed Marion Bartoli both came back from a set down to win their quarterfinal matches, while No. 4 seed Elena Dementieva fell to the No. 12 seed on Friday in Beijing.

The other winners of the day were No. 6 seed Svetlana Kuznetsova, who ousted Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova with a score of 63 63; and No. 12 seed Agnieszka Radwanska, who beat Dementieva with a score of 75 63.
